Due to continuous rains in Ratnagiri, floods in Vashishti, Jagbudi river have hit Chiplun, Khed area hard. Many places were inundated in about 12 feet. NDRF personnel are working to evacuate the flood victims.

Efforts are being made by NDRF to rescue civilians through boats and life jackets in the inundated water up to 12 feet.

On reaching Konkan, NDRF personnel had to face great difficulties to reach. NDRF teams could not reach Chiplun due to landslides in several places. Overcoming all these difficulties, NDRF personnel have reached Chiplun.

Even in the dark of night, NDRF personnel continued the rescue operation in Chiplun

A total of five NDRF squads have arrived in Chiplun, Khed.

A total of 56 villagers, including 24 men and 32 women from Mirjoli village of Chiplun, have been brought to safety by NDRF personnel along with their cattle.

In Chiplun, more than 12 feet of water has accumulated in some places. At such places people have come out on the roof of their houses. NDRF jawans are trying to reach such people

The NDRF's rescue operation has also gained momentum as the rains have receded in the morning and the water has also started receding.

NDRF personnel are using several boats to evacuate flood victims.

Due to landslides in many places, it was not possible to reach Konkan by road.
