A diary has been recovered from Sachin Waze’s office. NIA suspects this could be linked to the alleged extortion as alleged by Param Bir Singh.

Now, NIA is expected to approach the ED to look into the money laundering aspect.

There are some entries in Waze’s diary related to accounts and financial transactions.

Former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh in his letter to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray alleged that Home Minister Anil Deshmukh had directed Waze and other police officers to collect at least Rs 100 crore from city bars, hotels, and other establishments every month.

After Vaze's arrest, NIA officials raided the CIU office on March 16. At the time, they had found laptops, mobiles, other electronic gadgets and some documents.

Earlier, ATS Additional Commissioner of Police Shivdeep Lande and Deputy Commissioner Rajkumar Shinde had been stationed at the Thane office to probe the matter. Two accused in the murder case, Naresh Gore and Vinayak Shinde, were arrested on Sunday (March 21)

Shinde is a suspended police officer who was sentenced to life imprisonment in a 2007 fake encounter in Lucknow. In the same case, it was revealed that he was working for Vaze while on parole leave.

Mansukh murder case involves 10 to 11 accused and the cause and manner of the murder are being investigated. Meanwhile, an ATS team raided Vinayak Shinde's building in Kalwa Naka on Sunday.
