Big update on PAN-Aadhar linking if not linked by new date it will be inactive

The government has made it mandatory to link PAN-Aadhar card. But there is a lot of information about this and the government has given an extension. Earlier, it was made mandatory to link PAN-Aadhaar till June 30.

The government has decided to extend the deadline for PAN-Aadhaar linking by 3 months. Until September 30, 2021, PAN card and Aadhar card can now be linked.

The first deadline was March 31, 2021. It was later extended. Meanwhile, everyone had to link PAN Aadhaar by June 30. But once again, this has been done on September 30 against the backdrop of COVID-19.

According to the Income Tax Department, if the PAN card is not linked to the Aadhaar card within the stipulated time, the PAN card will become inactive. After that your PAN card will not work.

If you do not link the PAN card with the Aadhaar card, you may have to pay a fine of Rs. Therefore, it is mandatory to link PAN card and Aadhar card within the stipulated time.

This is due to the new section 234H added in the Income Tax Act 1961. The government had passed the Finance Bill 2021 in the Lok Sabha on March 23.

If any person does not link his PAN card to the Aadhaar card by the last date, it will be canceled. Also, this PAN card cannot be used for financial transactions after that. As a result, banking, mutual funds, demat accounts, new bank accounts.
