COVID-19 Lockdown Extension: Know exactly what all state govts in India are doing

The central government had announced a lockdown from March 25 to May 31 last year. After that, the unlock key process started in stages from June 1. Shopping malls, religious places, hotels, restaurants were allowed to open in the second week of June.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said in no uncertain terms that it is not possible to keep the lockdown for long. The unlock process will start from June 1 in Madhya Pradesh.

A meeting will be held between Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejiriwal and Deputy Governor Anil Baijal on the issue of relief in the lockdown in Delhi. Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has also hinted at easing some of the restrictions. The decision will be announced after a high-level meeting on the corona outbreak. The number of covid patients now compared to last month.

In Tamil Nadu, the decision to extend the lockdown by a week has already been announced. There has been a complete lockdown in Tamil Nadu since May 10. The lockdown has been extended for one week without any change or exemption in the rules taken with regard to the lockdown.

In Kerala too, the lockdown has been extended till May 30. More than 30,000 new corona patients were found in the state on Friday. In Kerala, the corona positivity rate is as high as 23.18 percent. Hence the mindset of giving any relief in the coming period in the state.

In Karnataka, the lockdown has been extended till June 7. Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa on Friday announced an extension of the lockdown. Lockdown has been going on in Karnataka since May 10. Lockdown will continue till June 7 without any concession in the current restrictions.
