According to a worst-case scenario projection by the Indian Institute of Science based on the current national trends, India could have 35 lakh Covid-19 cases and 1.4 lakh deaths by September.

The projections show that Maharashtra may have 6.3 lakh cases, Delhi 2.4 lakh, Tamil Nadu 1.6 lakh and Gujarat 1.8 lakh cases by September, with active cases roughly 35% of the total.

The same model by IISc professors Sashikumar G, Deepak S and their team predicts that India is likely to have 1.2 crore cases and 5 lakh deaths by November.

No peak is predicted for India until the end of March 2021, at which time there will be 6.2 crore cases, 82 lakh active cases and 28 lakh deaths, according to the study.

The IISC study also attempts to draw a picture of where the corona infection could reach in any state in September.

However, if the rate of infection is a little lower than it is now, then by the end of March, the number of infected people in India will increase to 36 million. And 1 lakh 90 thousand people will die.

In the last 24 hours, the number of corona cases in the country has exceeded nine and a half million. At the same time, the number of new cases of corona has increased by jumping on Thursday. In the last few days, the daily infection was increasing in the range of 28-29 thousand. On this day it exceeded 32,000.

According to the Union Ministry of Health, 32,895 people have been newly infected in the last 24 hours. 24 hours, which is still the maximum. Never before have so many people been infected in one day. With this, a total of nine lakh 7 thousand 6 people were affected in the country.

The rate of infection also goes up with the infected. The percentage of people who are tested every day, the percentage of reports that come back positive, is called the 'positivity rate'. In the last 24 hours, the infection rate in the country is 9 percent.

In addition to the infected, the death toll has risen to 25,000. According to the statistics of the Union Ministry of Health, 607 people have died due to corona in the last 24 hours. The coronavirus killed a total of 24,915 people in the country. Of these, 10,926 people died in Maharashtra alone. Delhi, the second deadliest country in the world, has lost 3,046 people. Tamil Nadu ranks third in the death toll with 2,018 deaths. In Gujarat, 2,069 people lost their lives due to corona.

Although the incidence is increasing rapidly, the recovery rate of corona patients in India is also quite reassuring. More than six lakh people have recovered since the attack. In other words, 73 percent of the total victims are recovering.

In the last 24 hours, 20,063 people have recovered in the country. With this, a total of six lakh 12 thousand 614 people were freed from the clutches of Corona.
