PNB Account Holder? Do this before March 31 or you won't be able to transfer money

PNB account holders must do this to ensure they are not inconvenienced and do it before the last day.

There is an alert for Punjab National Bank (PNB) account holders. This is regarding IFSC-MICR Code.

Punjab National Bank has announced that it has changed the old IFSC-MICR Code and these will stop working from March 31, 2021.

If you have a cheque book or plan to transfer money and do any banking related transaction or work, you will have to ensure that you use new IFSC-MICR Code, wherever required.

For this, you will have to take these codes from PNB to continue transacting without any problem.

Earlier on April 1, 2020, the government had merged three public sector banks—Punjab National Bank, United Bank of India and Oriental Bank of Commerce.

Once the changes in PNB IFSC-MICR Code is made, changes in cheque books of account holders will also be done. Informing about changes, Punjab National Bank (PNB) tweeted, " All transactions with current IFSC/MICR code will be honoured till March 31, 2021. Post March 31, 2021, you will need to ensure for NEFT and RTGS services, you shall use the new IFSC/MICR code only. "

"Please also note that your current erstwhile eOBC/eUNI cheque book will remain valid until March 31, 2021.

Further you are requested to get the new cheque book from your branch, including replacement of post-dated cheques issued in your eOBC/eUNI account, latest by March 31, 2021.

Cheques already issued shall remain valid and honored on presentation, if otherwise in order till March 31, 2021, " It further wrote.
