Over the last few years, Indian Railways has been making various plans, programs and changes for the convenience of the passengers. In view of the growing demand for air-conditioned range, the Railways has introduced special AC trains on several routes.

Not only this, Indian Railways has now started work on a new category called Economy AC Three Tier and passengers will be able to enjoy AC Travel (Rail Journey) at low cost.

While the production of economy AC three tier coaches is underway, Indian Railways is now planning to air-condition unreserved second class coaches. In addition, the railways are making some other changes in the general coaches, which will make the journey more comfortable, he said

The coaches will be manufactured at Indian Railways' Kapurthala Railway Coach Factory. Ravinder Gupta, Manager, Rail Coach Factory, said, "The scheme will be pleasant for the common man and will change the experience of the train journey.

The new scheme will make the journey in the general coach more comfortable. This will give passengers a different experience. It is also said that the design of air-conditioned general coaches has been finalized.

Production of AC general coaches will begin in a few days, and by the end of this year, air-conditioned unreserved general coaches will be on the rails. Deendayalu coaches are now in service to make the journey in the general coach a pleasant one.

At present the capacity of general coaches in railway service was 100. The railways are spending Rs 2.24 crore to build one coach. The new AC General Coach will have increased passenger capacity. It will also provide state-of-the-art facilities.

The new AC General Coach will be installed in long journey and express trains. They will be able to run faster per hour. Non AC General Coaches 110 km Can't run faster than per hour.

The new AC general coaches are expected to be of LHB type. There will be some changes to make it faster. On the other hand, the speed of economy AC coach is 180 kmph. Railway plans to build 248 coaches per hour by 2022
