Tamil Nadu: Fearing human sacrifice, son reaches police station against mother

A 15-year-old boy in the Erode district of Tamil Nadu has filed a police complaint against his mother alleging he and his younger brother could be killed in a human sacrifice ritual.

In his complaint, the child alleged that they were tortured by the accused for not obeying their orders at home.

The two children feared for their lives and escaped to their grandparents' place. They subsequently approached the police.

The child has identified Ramilingam and Ranjitha as his parents living in Erode. Both Ramilingam and Ranjitha, according to the child's complaint, were involved in extra-marital affairs.

Ramilingam married another woman, identified in the complaint letter as Indumathi. Ramilingam lived with both the women in the same house.

Meanwhile, Ranjitha "married" a friend of Indumathi, identified as Dhanalakshmi in the child's complaint. The child claimed they called themselves "Sivan" and "Shakti" - referring to the divine powers of Lord Shiva and the goddess of power.

The child alleged that Ranjitha and Dhanalakshmi behaved inappropriately and punished them for not believing their claim of being "Sivan" and "Shakti".The strange manner of their behavior made the children afraid of Ranjitha and Dhanalakshmi.

Ramilingam and Ranjitha also stayed in the same house. The child in his complaint said he heard Ranjitha and Dhalakshmi planning to kill him and his brother as part of a human sacrifice ritual.

Fearing for their lives, the children ran away to their grandfather's place.

The grandparents had taken both the children to Erode's SP P Thangadurai to lodge a complaint. He also complained that both the children were in danger from Ranjita and Dhanalakshmi. Police have initiated action against him.
