Mridula Sinha, who is currently serving as the Governor of Goa also acknowledged the occasion and remembered the slain jawans.

"The Goa Revolution, which is being commemorated annually on 18th June, has special significance for Goans as it was on this day in the year 1946 the Goans staged an open but peaceful revolt against the atrocities perpetrated on them by the Portuguese colonial regime," the governor said.

Nonetheless, the Leader of Opposition, Chandrakant Kavlekar also paid homage to the freedom fighters and wished for a peaceful future ahead in his message.
