90s actress Urmila Matondkar has lashed out at Kangana Ranaut over her remarks on Mumbai and the ongoing controversy over the alleged drug menace in Bollywood. The former Congress party member said that the entire country is facing the menace of drugs. "Does she (Kangana) know Himachal is the origin of drugs? She should start from her own state," Urmila was quoted saying by India Today. "Why did this person who has been given Y-security from the taxpayers' money didn’t give information about the drug nexus to the police?," she added.
Reacting strongly to Kangana's recent remarks about the financial capital following her controversial visit, Urmila asserted that Mumbai belongs to everyone and she will tolerate any defamatory remark against the city of Mumbai. Continuing her attack on Kangana, the actress opined that if one person shouts all the time, it doesn’t mean that the person is speaking the truth. "Some people want to crib all the time and play the victim card and if all that fails, they play the woman card," she added. Urmila said that Kangana made distasteful statements about things that are very close to her heart - Mumbai and Bollywood. "No iota of doubt that Mumbai belongs to everyone. Whoever has loved the city and has given back to the city, it belongs to them As a daughter of the city, I will never tolerate any defamatory remark against it. When you make such comments you are not only insulting the city, but people of the state at large," she said. For the unversed, Kangana, who has been on a crusade to seek justice for Sushant Singh Rajput after the actor's death by alleged suicide has exchanged a series of jibes back and forth with Shiv Sena and bureaucrats representing the state of Maharashtra.
