Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren under COVID-19 threat, goes into home quarantine

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has quarantined himself at his Ranchi residence after a minister he had met earlier tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Hemnat Soren had recently come in contact with minister Mithilesh Thakur. Thakur later tested positive for Covid-19.The Chief Minister has also asked staff members of the Jharkhand CMO to go into home quarantine.

In a statement on Wednesday, the state government said, “Jharkand CM Hemant Soren quarantined himself. Entry to the CM residence prohibited. CM had come in contact with state minister Mithlesh Thakur who tested positive for Covid-19 yesterday. The chief minister's samples are expected to be tested during the day, officials said. Jharkhand has reported over 3,000 COVID-19 cases. While there are 892 active cases in Jharkhand, 22 people have died due to coronavirus.
