Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, who is facing allegations of corruption levelled by former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh, has tendered his resignation to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Monday.

Parambir Singh had made shocking allegations against Anil Deshmukh for recovering Rs 100 crore. The developments come after Bombay High Court on Monday ordered the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to start a preliminary inquiry within 15 days into corruption allegations against Deshmukh by the former Mumbai Police Commissioner.

After that, Anil Deshmukh had decided to step down from the post of Home Minister on moral grounds. However, due to this whole issue, the BJP leaders had an opportunity to criticize the Thackeray government.

Commenting on the issue, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said that the resignation of Anil Deshmukh exposed the Uddhav Thackeray government to the hilt. It is first time that we have seen police planting bombs and Home Minister asking for "Vasooli" in India, he said.

He wrote,"#AnilDeshmukh 's resignation  exposes Udhav Thackeray government to the hilt. It is first time that we have seen police planting bombs and Home Minister asking for "Vasooli" in India."
