A Gujarat resident, managed to escape from a lion attack after the animal jumped on his chest. According to reports, the man was sleeping in his hut when he felt a heavy weight resting on his chest. When the man opened his eyes, he saw a lioness sitting on his chest, staring at him. Instead of panicking,  the man  followed his instincts and pushed the lioness away from his chest with all the strength he could gather. Taken aback at its prey's strength, the lioness did not attack Vipul again and retreated to the forest.

The man who has been identified as Vipul in his interview to The Times of India, said, "The lioness must have realised that I was not her natural prey and that she made a huge blunder by selecting me. "Bhupendra Khuman, sarpanch of the Jabal village said that such conflicts take place as prides of lion have started living in Jabal and Abhrampara areas instead of the sanctuary. He added, "Lions are frequently spotted in these areas. " Khuman said that generally, cattle fall prey to lions in the area and this was the first case of "animal molestation". The episode took place at Abharampara village of Savarkundla taluka in Amreli district of Gujarat.
