Paytm, Zomato, Disney+ Hotstar, Amazon services hit in major internet outrage

A major part of the internet services including Paytm, Zomato, Disney+ Hostar, Sony LIV, Paytm, PlayStation Network (PSN), Steam, Warfare, OLX, Amazon, and Instagram were down for users. Internet infrastructure provider Akamai confirmed that it is experiencing a service disruption. "We are actively investigating the issue and will provide an update in 30 minutes," it said.Akmai has later said that it has fixed the issue, and based on current observations, the service is resuming normal operations.

According to Internet outage tracker Down Detector, the outage began at around 8.55 pm on Thursday. Within five minutes, the number of people unable to access Zomato alone was reported to be around 3,000. Zomato said its teams are actively working to ensure all orders are delivered asap. Paytm too has taken to Twitter to confirm the outage. Similar problems were also running with many other services. Some NDTV sites were also affected in this outage. The problem appears to have come with Akamai, which provides the Internet with critical infrastructure.
