Aden is a port city and the temporary capital of Yemen, located by the eastern approach to the Red Sea, some 170 km east of Bab-el-Mandeb. Its population is approximately 800,000 people.
The Saudi-led coalition has called for a ceasefire between the forces of the internationally recognised government and southern separatists in the Yemeni port city of Aden after days of clashes that left dozens of civil dead.
The Saudi Arabia-led coalition on Sunday launched an airstrike on a military site in Yemen's port city of Aden, a government official said.
Saudi Arabia on Saturday invited the Yemeni government and all parties involved in the conflict in Aden to hold emergency peace negotiations in a bid to strike a deal to end the four-year-old civil war in the neighbouring country.
