Delhi received its second Oxygen Express carrying 120 MT of liquid medical oxygen (LMO) on Sunday, while third Oxygen express has already begun its journey from Angul to Delhi carrying 30.86 MT LMO, Indian Railways said.

Amid the ongoing COVID-19 crisis across the country, Indian Railways has so far delivered more than 664 MT LMO to Maharashtra (174 MT), Uttar Pradesh (356.47 MT), Madhya Pradesh (64 MT), and Delhi (70 MT), the government said on Friday.

In the light of shortage of medical oxygen in the country due to surging COVID-19 cases, Chairman and CEO Railway Board Suneet Sharma on Thursday said that the Indian Railways is ready to transport Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) anywhere to save every life.
With increase in demand for medical oxygen due to surge in COVID-19 cases in the country, the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) said on Thursday that it has supplied on an average 660 Metric Tonnes (MT) of liquid medical oxygen per day from its plants in last six days and supplied 891 MT of LMO on Wednesday.
Following the demand by the Delhi government, Indian Railways will providing 75 isolation coaches to the national capital which will have 1,200 beds as Covid Care Centers at Anand Vihar Terminal and Shakurbasti railway stations.
No charges will be levied from states for COVID-19 isolation coaches, said Northern Railway General Manager Ashutosh Gangal on Sunday.
Indian Railways will continue to provide train services as per demand and is, at present, running 1,402 specials train services on an average per day.
