Aurangabad, Feb 15:The series of the accidents does not seem to cease on theBeed By-pass from the beginning of the New Year. An old man going on amotorcycle with his engineer son on Beed By-pass Road was crushed by a speedingtruck on Monday at around 2.20 pm.The deceased has been identified as Ashruba Bhimrao Raut(65, Pokhri Mande, Beed). His son Vishnu Raut (40, Satara area) sustained minorinjuries.Ashruba had come to the city toattend a marriage ceremony at the Ramchandra hall on Monday afternoon. His sonstays at Satara area and after the marriage ceremony he went to meet his son.After staying there for an hour, he was going with his son on motorcycle to themarriage venue to return to his village with the other people. After crossingthe Godawari Tee- point, a speeding truck (MH 20 CT 2666) dashed their motorcycle. Ashruba fell down andcame under the left tyre of the truck. The nearby residents stopped the truckdriver who was planning to run away from the scene. Meanwhile PI SurendraMalale, traffic branch PI Mukund Deshmukh and others rushed to the spot andtook the injured to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) wherethe doctors declared Ashruba dead after examination. A case has been registeredagainst the truck driver at the Satara police station while ASI Sheshrao Chavanis further investigating the case.
