30 commit suicide on railway tracks in four months

Aurangabad, April 25:

In a shocking revelation, it has been found that around 30 persons have committed suicide on the railway tracks since January. Moreover, 70 persons committed suicide under the trains during 2020, the sources said.

Railway Security Force (RSF) looks after the security of the railways. The Jawans said that they stopped several persons from committing suicide and counseled them. However, people without their notice jump in front of the trains and end their lives. A persons due to his prolonged illness had come to commit suicide on the railway tracks. The Jawans stopped him and after counseling send him to his home. However, he died a few days after this incident due to his illness, they informed.

Moreover, the trains were not operated during lockdown last year and hence the suicides were reported less. Moreover, 30 suicides were reported in just four months this year since January, informed RSF PI Arvindkumar Sharma.
