4 held in Ranjit Singh market shootout incident in Nanded

Four persons were arrested on Monday by the city police in connection with the firing incident of Maharaj Ranjit Singhji Market at Nanded on Sunday evening while hunt for their two accomplices has been launched.

Nanded Superintendent of Police Pramod Shewale said that the names and other personal details of the four arrested today cannot be disclosed. The motive of firing is not clear as of today and it will become clear only after the arrest of two others is made and all are grilled.

As reported earlier, six motorcycle-borne men opened fire at ten shops in just 10 minutes in the Old Mondha area on Sunday evening triggering sensation and panic in the city. Akash Parihar, a paan kiosk owner, was injured in the firing. The accused grabbed Rs 10,000 from a merchant and fled.

The incident caused a stir in the city. The SP Shewale visited the spot and immediately dispatched teams to search for the accused. Two of them were taken into custody late in the night of Sunday and two more were arrested today in the morning. Till now two are absconding.
