Aurangabad, May 18:

A total of six motorcycles were stolen from the different parts of the city during the last few days. Significantly, police personnel were deployed at 54 checking points within the jurisdiction of the commissioner of police.

According to details, Shahed Ali Shaukat Ali, a resident of Subhedari Guest House, parked his motorcycle (MH-20 BZ-8800) in front of a hotel in Town Hall. He lodged a complaint with Begumpura Police Station.

In another case, a two-wheeler (MH-20-CV 4786) belonging to Mohammed Shahid Masood Shaikh was stolen from Paan Chakki in the morning of May 14.

Superintendent of Government Medical College and Hospital Narendra Bhaskar Bhalero made a complaint with Begumpura Police Station that he had parked his two-wheeler (MH-20-BM-5477) in GMCH premises on May 12 when thieves stole it in broad daylight.

In the fourth case, a motorcycle (MH-20-BU-0220) which was parked in front of a house at Priyadarshininagar in Nageshwardi on May 16, was stolen. The owner of the vehicle Vithalrao Anandrao Shinde, lodged a complaint with Kranti Chowk Police Station.

Shaikh Imran Shaikh Bapuji informed Cantonment Police Station that his two-wheeler (MH-20-DP-0835) parked in the parking of Golden City Apartment was stolen on May 16.

He made a complaint with the police.

In the sixth case, Dilipkumar Ramchandra Tiwari lodged a complaint with Cantonment Police Station that his motorcycle (MH-20-BD-3778) parked in Dhan Laxmi Housing Society parking in Nandanvan Colony was stolen on the night of May 15.

The series of vehicles theft continues for the past few years. Commissioner of police Dr Nikhil Gupta after taking charge of the post said he would lay stress on curbing two-wheeler theft. The crime branch personnel were deployed at traffic points, But it did not work much.

The series of vehicle thefts continued since January 2021. A total of 229 vehicles were stolen by March-end.
