8 admissions confirm under RTE

Aurangabad, June 12:

Only eight admissions were confirmed under the Right to Education Act quota in the district during the last two days.

It may be noted that 25 per cent of seats are reserved in private schools for children belonging to the economically weaker section of society.

A total of 11,861 parents applied for their children’s admissions on 3,626 seats from 603 schools of the district. A total of 3,470 children were selected through a draw of lots for the academic year 2021-22.

The admission process was halted since April with the rise in Covid patients. The pandemic lockdown norms were lifted completely from the city after it fell in the ‘Level-1’ category.

The Education Department asked parents of selected students to confirm the admissions online between June 11 and 30. Only eight parents confirmed the admissions so far while other parents started scrutiny of documents in the schools.
