Accused say injured had brought knife

Aurangabad, March 11:

The knife used in the murder of Danishoddin at Anguribaug has been hidden by the accused Nitin alias Bhaskar Khandagale and his relatives. They said that the injured had brought the knife to attack them, and then they snatched it from them. All the accused, when inquired separately, are providing the same information to the police.

A 21 years old youth Syed Danishoddin Shafioddin was stabbed and murdered at Anguribaug on Wednesday at 12.15 am. The Kranti Chowk police had arrested Nitin alias Gabbya Bhaskar Khandagale, brother Somnath Khandagale, mother Ratnamala and sister Adv Dipali in this connection.

The police seized the blood-stained clothes of the deceased and other injured victims after conducting a Panchnama.

The police interrogated the accused, but no one provided correct information, said PI, Dr G H Darade.

Darade said, we have started the investigation. The accused attacked four persons with a knife. We are investigating that from where he brought the knife and where they have hidden it. However, they are not saying anything about it. They say that the injured youths brought the knife and were planning to attack them, Darade said.

Meanwhile, the accused said that the accused Nitin alias Gabbya is a mental patient, and hence his general medical test was conducted immediately. His medical test will be conducted again, the police said.
