AMC administrator appoints guardian officers, custodians to keep vigil on 21 roads in city

Aurangabad, Jan 8:

The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) administrator A K Pandey today appointed executive engineers (as guardian officers) and deputy engineers (as custodians) of the 21 roads, which are developed from the state government''s fund of Rs 152.58 crore. They will have to keep a vigil and ensure that each road work is done as per the specifications, terms and conditions mentioned in the tenders invited separately by three different corporations - AMC, Maharashtra Industries Development Corporation (MIDC) and Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC).

The order mentioned that all these ongoing road works are in the AMC jurisdiction, irrespective of which agency is doing the work. Hence the deputy engineers have been instructed to report to their guardian officers and update MIDC and MSRDC engineers and project management consultant (PMC). The letter intimating about the appointment has also forwarded to the superintending engineers of MIDC and MSRDC, apart from the AMC''s city engineer.

Nine Roads - AMC

The in-charge executive engineer, B D Phad, will be the guardian officer and four deputy engineers will enact as the custodians of various roads.

1. Deputy engineer (of Zone No-6) R N Sandha will be looking after the four roads (along with estimate cost). They are as follows: Concretisation of the road from Deepali Hotel to Jaibhavani Chowk to Mukundwadi Railway Station and tarring of Railway Station flyover road (Rs 15.02 crore); Concretisation of the road from Pundaliknagar ESR to Cidco N3, High Court to Kamgar Chowk main road (Rs 2.50 crore); Concretisation of the road from Bhavani petrol pump (Cidco N2) to C-Sector and Thakarenagar (Cidco, N2) main road (Rs 1.80 crore) and Concretisation of the road from Mahalaxmi Chowk to Lokshahi Colony (Rs 1.44 crore).

2. Deputy engineer (of Zone No-7) R P Waghmare will look after three roads. Tarring of the road from Agrasen Chowk to Central Excise Office (Rs 2.78 crore); Concretisation of the road from Jalna Road to Apex Hospital (Rs 2.67 crore) and Tarring of the road from Jalna Road to Hotel Ajanta Ambassador (Rs 1.52 crore).

3. Deputy engineer (of Zone No-5) S M Jadhav is the custodian of one road. Tarring of the road from Wockhardt Company to Jaibhavani Chowk (Naregaon) and Railway Station to Tirupati Enclave road (Rs 8.28 crore).

4. Deputy engineer (of Zone No-9) B K Pardeshi is also the custodian of one road. Tarring of the road from Balasaheb Thackeray Mural Chowk to Ekta Chowk (Rs 5.32 crore).

Seven Roads - MSRDC

The executive engineer Hemant Kolhe is the guardian officer and three deputy engineers are the custodians.

1. Deputy engineer (of Zone No-3) Vasant Bhoye is the custodian of three roads. Concretisation of the road from the District Collectorate to Salim Ali Lake (Rs 8.98 crore); Concretisation of the road from Police Mess to Katkat Gate (Rs 6.34 crore) and Tarring of the road from Madani Chowk to Central Octroi Naka (Rs 3.47 crore).

2. Deputy engineer (of Zone No-2) G B Gadekar is the custodian of two roads. He will look after Tarring of the road from Varad Ganesh Mandir to Laxman Chawadi via Sawarkar Chowk and Sillekhana (10.26 crore) and Concretisation of the road from Jaffar Gate to Mondha Naka and Jaffar Gate to Weekly Market (Rs 7.72 crore).

3. Deputy engineer (of Zone No-1) K N Katkar will look after one road. Concretisation of the road from Naubat Darwaza to City Chowk along with the old bridge (Rs 3.59 crore).

4. Deputy engineer (of Zone No-9) B K Pardeshi will look after one road. Concretisation of the road from Gopal T-Point to Utsav Mangal Karyalaya along with the construction of the bridge in front of Aushadhi Bhavan (Rs 1.96 crore).

Seven Roads - MIDC

The executive engineer S D Kakade is the guardian officer, and five deputy engineers are the custodians.

1. Deputy engineer (of Zone No-7) R P Waghmare will look after two roads. They include Tarring of the road in Cannaught Place (Rs 3.26 crore) and Concretisation of the road from Raj Heights (MGM) to N-5 ESR to Balasaheb Thackeray Memorial Garden (Rs 6.92 crore).

2. Deputy engineer (of Zone No-5) S M Jadhav will look after two roads. They include Concretisation of the road from API Corner (Jalna Road) to Kalagram-Garware Stadium and API Corner to N-1 Police Chowk via Cidco Bus Stand

(Rs 14.56 crore) and Greaves Cotton to Jaibhavani Chowk to Naregaon (Rs 5.86 crore).

3. Deputy engineer (of Zone No-4) Farooq Khan is the custodian of one road. Strengthening and Tarring of the 36 metres wide road from Sai Medicity Hospital to Survey No.153 in Harsul (Rs 4.13 crore).

4. Deputy engineer (of Zone No-6) R N Sandha will look after one road. Concretisation of the road from Sai Transport (N-3, Jalna Road) to Shivnath Rathi''s House (N-4) via Chhatrapati College (Rs 3.28 crore).

5. Deputy engineer (of Zone No-1) K N Katkar is the custodian of one road. Concretisation of the road from Piya Market to City Chowk via Surana Building along with the old bridge (Rs 2.97 crore).
