AMC appeals using protective mechanism to stay safe from Covid-19; community spread!

Aurangabad, Nov 23:

The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) health officer has appealed to the citizens to help the administration by using the protective mechanism and stay prevented from the attack of Coronavirus.

The health officer Dr Neeta Padalkar said," The change in winter climate may re-invite flu, viral fever, pneumonia, respiratory diseases etc. As a result, the citizens should not take themselves for granted and adopt all possible measures at their level using face masks, maintaining physical distance in the market places and using sanitisers frequently."

Dr Padalkar suggested avoiding visiting crowded places. She reasoned," It is good that the AMC is monitoring on every happening. However, the negligence of people while visiting crowded places may lead to community transmission. One could avoid going out or if stepped out of the homes use all the protective mechanism as guided."

" Do not take the symptoms for granted. Consult your doctor immediately. Do not go for self-medication. People delay the treatment and waste 5-6 days. It is the period when the virus becomes active (if it exists) then it becomes risky for the patients as well as challenging for the health administration," she said adding that nowadays more than 100 Covid-19 positive patients are being reported daily from the city limits.

The health officer said that the AMC is conducting 1000 to 1,500 RT-PCR tests at the 16 health centres. The staff appointed temporarily will not be relieved as a precautionary measure. " We will be holding all the staff deployed at our five Covid Care Centres for a few more months," she said.
