AMC attracts good response to contest on heritage gates

Aurangabad, Feb 8:

The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has received a good response to the heritage gates building contest in the past one fortnight. The AMC has received around 30 registration from participants, so far.

According to sources, the architects, art students, teachers and school students had registered their names for preparing models on heritage gates like Delhi Gate, Meccai Gate, Bhadkal Gate, Kala Darwaza, Paithan Gate, Town Hall etc. Many of them are focussing on Clock Tower (Shahgunj).

The AMC is organising the contest to create awareness about our rich and unique culture and tradition. It is the need of the hour, during the era of rapid urbanisation, stated the AMC.

The contest is open for citizens of all age group, gender and professions. The registration can be done on payment of Rs 100, and the model has to be submitted on or before February 15, 2021. The AMC will not accept the models made of thermocol and plastic. The desirous citizens may contact Hansraj Bansal on mobile number 9422211107 for any queries.

The first prize is Rs 21,000, second prize is Rs 15,000, and two third prizes are of Rs 10,000, apart from 10 consolation prizes of Rs 3,000 each, said the sources.
