AMC deploys 10 teachers to record health status of 2,500 COVID patients under home isolation

Aurangabad, March 22:

The health section of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has deployed a team of 10 teachers in its War Room to record and update the health status of suspects of Covid-19 infection, undergoing treatment under home isolation. The patients are contacted on their cellphones daily and will be communicating with him/her for 10 consecutive days. Presently, 2,500 patients from the city are under home isolation.

Due to the sudden rise of patients in the city, the AMC is facing a shortage of beds to accommodate them. As a result, patients who asymptomatic or have mild symptoms are recommended for treatment under home isolation. The facility is available on the submission of a consent letter from a family doctor or any doctor in the locality. The doctor issuing the letter will be responsible for the treatment and giving of dosages of medicines to the patients. Besides, the AMC officials will contact him as well and inquire about the improvement in the health of patient on a daily basis.

The medical officer and in-charge of War Room, Dr Megha Jogdand, said," The team of 10 teachers deployed in the War Room has the list of contact numbers and health data of patients under home isolation. These teachers directly contact the patient and inquire about his/her health daily. If any seriousness is felt, the AMC's squad immediately rushed to the patient's house and, if required, shifts him to the nearest Covid Care Centre (CCC) for the treatment."

Meanwhile, the strength of patients under home isolation is increasing daily. The status of patients undergoing treatment at home was 2,500 on Sunday, it is learnt.
