AMC establishes five COVID vaccination centres in city

Aurangabad, Jan 9:

The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has developed five vaccination centres to administer COVID vaccine to the frontline and healthcare workers, under the first phase, to be implemented on January 16.

The centres are set up on the directives of the union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW). The COVID vaccine will be given to the doctors and paramedical staff (government and private hospitals) at the five centres. They include three AMC''s primary health centres at Bhimnagar, Cidco N-11 and Sadatnagar and two hospitals situated at Silk Mills Colony and Bansilalnagar.

The government will implement the vaccination programme in phases. The online registration for the first phase is underway.

Meanwhile, the district health officer and civil surgeon of each district are asked to set up 14 vaccination centres in their respective jurisdiction.

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi today reviewed the COVID vaccination programme, and he recommended to implement it after Lohri, Makar Sankranti, Pongal, Magh Bihu etc. festivals, from January 16, 2021. The vaccination will also be given to the persons above and less than 50 years age with co-morbidities. The details about the vaccination programme will be sent on the mobile phone of each beneficiary through SMS. The communication with the concerned person will continue after taking the vaccine. After two dosages, the QR Code-based certificate will be forwarded to the beneficiaries on their mobile phones.
