AMC foils plan to illegally erect mobile tower on holiday

Aurangabad, June 5:

The anti-encroachment squad of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) today has foiled a plan to erect an illegal mobile tower and seized the material in Aloknagar (Satara locality), this morning.

It so happened that the alert residents called the municipal commissioner, who then directed the additional commissioner R P Nikam for further action. Nikam told the squad to submit the spot inspection report. The squad reached Satara locality's Gut Number 161 in Aloknagar and found that the work to erect a mobile tower was underway on the house of a resident Gaikwad. They learnt that the material and equipment required for the tower were unloaded at the site on Friday night. There are holidays to government offices on Saturday and Sunday, therefore, the plan to erect the tower illegal taking advantage of the holidays.

The squad instructed the labourers to stop erecting the tower at 11 am. They also seized the tower material and conducted the inspection. Meanwhile, the AMC has appealed to the citizens to inform the office, if they come across any erection of a tower in the city during the pandemic situation.

Meanwhile, the squad also stopped an illegal construction ongoing in Bhausinghpura. A resident Satpute was illegally constructing a gallery, which was falling on the roadside, and could have posed obstruction to the traffic. The action was taken by designated officers Savita Sonawane, Vasant Bhoye, and others personnel from the squad and police including Syed Jamsheed, Tupe, Khan and Thakre.
