ASCDCL to conduct ''Handlebar'' survey for developing cycle track

The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) administrator A K Pandey held a meeting with the office-bearers of various bicycle associations in the city at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Research Centre, this morning. The commissioner of police (CP) Nikhil Gupta also attended the meeting.

The meeting was a part of an initiative under Smart City Mission, Cycles4Change. Hence the Aurangabad Smart City Development Corporation Limited (ASCDCL) invited the bicycle associations to discuss and select the place for developing cycle tracks in the city.

Pandey underlined his plan to reserve the central portion of the white topping roads (proposed to be built) for bicyclists. " Many citizens are desirous to ride a bicycle to get their daily work done, but due to non-availability of dedicated space for a bicycle track, they face problems and do not dare to do so. Hence the cycle track is needed for the hour," said the administrator.
