Attempt to rape 7 years old girl after kidnapping

Aurangabad, Oct 16:

A seven-year-old girl sleeping with her grandmother and uncle in a tin shed was kidnapped and attempted to rape on the wee hours of Friday at around 1.30 am at Wadgaon. The girl sustained minor injuries while the accused fled away from the scene after an unsuccessful rape attempt.

A building construction work is going at Wadgaon Kolhati on Sajapur Road, and the workers from Kannad tehsil are working on this site. The workers on Thursday slept on the building''s terrace while the girl, her grandmother and uncle slept in a tin shed.

When the accused ran away, the due to mental trauma ran in the opposite direction of the shed. After some time, she returned and told about the incident to grandmother and uncle. They later informed the Waluj MIDC police about it. The police sent the minor girl to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for medical examination and inspected the spot where the incident occurred. A police team has started the investigation in this matter. Meanwhile, DCP Nikesh Khatmode – Patil, ACP Vivek Sharaf, PI Madhukar Sawant also visited the spot on Friday.

Before kidnapping the girl, the kidnapper stole a mobile phone of one of the workers sleeping on the terrace. When the victim''s relatives tried to contact the accused on this phone, he replied to them to forget about the girl and the phone. Then the phone was switched off. The police searched for the accused around but could not find him.
