Bamu gets Rs 32 L fund for skills development centre

Aurangabad, June 3:

The administration of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu) received 32 lakh fund from Aurangabad Electricals Pvt Ltd (AEL) to start an entrepreneurship and skills development Centre on the campus.

The university decided to start the centre to train youths from Marathwada to become an entrepreneur and provide required skilled manpower to the industry. Bamu made a provision of Rs 1 crore in the budget. The Centre will also conduct skills-based courses.

Aurangabad Electricals Pvt Ltd signed a memorandum of understanding with the university to pay a fund of Rs 1.50 crore under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for the initiative.

Vice-president of AEL Soumen Majumdar handed over a cheque of Rs 32 lakh as the first installment to Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr Shyam Shirsath.

Deans Dr Walmik Sarwade and Dr Bhalchandra Waykar and manager (finance and accounts department) Pramod Agrawal were present. Dr Walmik Sarwade said that training courses would be launched in collaboration with industries.
