BAMU hires 151 CHB teachers to complete syllabus on time

Aurangabad, Jan 23:

Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU) has hired 151 teachers on Clock Hour Basis (CHB) to complete syllabus in different departments on time because of staff shortage.

Those who are NET/SET holders will get benefit from it.

There are 259 approved posts of professors, associate and assistant professors in 52 academic departments. A total of 127 are vacant due to different reasons, including retirement existing staff and restrictions on new full-time teachers recruitment.

This was affecting teaching in the department for the past several years. Vice-chancellor Dr Pramod Yeole decided to appointed some teachers on fixed pay while others on CHB.

The Management Council also approved the decision.

The process of interviews was held in December. Pro-VC Dr Shyam Shirsath chaired the selection process while registrar Dr Jaishree Suryavanshi and deputy registrar Dilip Bharad completed it.

The department wise-number of hired teachers is as follows; Physics (six), Electronics (two), Chemistry (10), Biochemistry (three), Chemical Technology (two), Deen Dayal Upadhyay Kaushal Kendra (14), Botany (seven), Zoology (three), Mathematics (two each in city and Osmanabad sub-centre campuses), Journalism (seven), Commerce (two), Management Science (12), Tourism Department (two), Marathi (two), Urdu (two), Pali (two), Psychology (two), Gopinath Munde National Institute of Rural Development (seven), History (three), Geography (four), Fine Art (three), Phule-Shahu-Ambedkar Thoughts (three), Dramatics (three), Musics (two), Fine Arts (two), Law (three), Physical Education (three), Women Study Centre (one), Biotechnology (one), Water and Land Management (two), Education (two), Pre-IAS Coaching Centre (10) and Model College-Ghansaungi.
