Bamu to hold second paper of PET through online today

Aurangabad, March 12:

Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu) will be conducting the second paper of PET exam for PhD aspirants online tomorrow (March 13) between 10 am and 1 pm. In this three hours duration, the candidates can log in at their convenience, but he/she will have to solve 100 questions (each of one mark) in 90 minutes.

Bamu's deputy registrar Dr Ganesh Manza said, " The PhD Entrance Test (PET) was not conducted for the last four years in our university. Hence, many students desirous to undertake research and students unions requested the vice-chancellor Dr Pramod Yeole to conduct the PET. Accordingly, the university conducted the first paper of PET of 45 subjects on January 30, this year. It was of 50 marks. A total of 6,383 students passed in the first paper's result, which was declared on February 1."

Manza added, " We had conducted mock tests for the second paper on March 10 and 11. Accordingly, the students, who had cleared in the first paper, can appear for this second paper through mobile, laptop or desktop. In this 100 marks question paper, the candidates will have to solve 100 questions in 90 minutes (one and a half hour). The result will be declared on March 17. The final result (combining marks of the first and the second paper) will be announced on March 20. The certificate of marks will be distributed later on."

PET passed candidates, and the other candidates who are eligible for research (like SET or NET passed, M.Phil, five years teaching experience etc.) may apply online from March 22 to April 3. The research and recognition committee (RRC) will conduct its meeting in April. Prior to the registration for the PhD, the university will publish the list of vacant seats for research and availability of guides (subject wise). It is mandatory to submit the hard copy of all the required documents to the university by April 8, said Dr Manza.
