Case against six youths for submitting fake birth certificates for recruitment

Aurangabad, Feb 2: Army officials have identified six youths who had submitted fake birth certificates to join the Indian Army. A case of fraud was filed against the youths by the Army on Monday. The fraud took place between 2016 and 2020.

The accused have been identified as Vijay Namdev Mangate (Wakad, Kannad), Shankar Suresh Wagh, Mahabaleshwar Pundalikrao Kendra (Daithana, Kandhar, Dist Nanded), Prashant Ramchandra Mahale (Dusane, Sikri), Kiran Kautikrao Bhadge (Wakad) and Anis Alauddin Sheikh (Mali Galli, Parbhani). According to information, a recruitment drive is organized every year by the army. The accused had given written and field test for recruitment in the Indian Army carried out between 2016 and 2020. Being found eligible for recruitment, they submitted their educational documents as per the instructions of the army officers. When the documents were verified by the authorities, it was found that the date of birth in the birth certificate submitted by the youths was fake. Colonel Tarun Singh Bhagwan Singh Jamwal, 40, a military recruitment officer at the cantonment, lodged a complaint at the Chawni police station on Monday. Police filed a case against the accused youths.
