CNG to be available at eight fuel stations from March

Aurangabad, Jan 23:

The officials of three oil companies today underlined that the compressed natural gas (CNG) will be available for cars and autorickshaws as the functioning of eight fuel stations, in and around the city, will start from March.

The energy conservation campaign dubbed as SAKSHAM 2021 has been launched in the country by the union ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas with the oil companies to spread awareness about 'Green and Clean Energy' from January 16. The campaign aims at protecting the environment, sustainable development and conserving the energy available in the country.

While addressing a joint press conference organised in the city to apprise about the campaign, Bharat Petroleum's senior manager (sales) Vikash Ranjan said, " The CNG will be made available through the eight fuel stations of the three oil companies. It will be benefitting three and four-wheeler vehicles. One can consume the CNG fuel by installing a kit to the vehicle."

HPCL's regional manager (sales) Vipul Sharma said, " The contract of laying the gas pipelines is awarded to the BGRL company. The CNG will be brought through tankers at the pumps for distribution to the vehicles from March. The eight fuel stations are at various places in the city and surrounding areas like Waluj, Karodi, Kanchanwadi and Surewadi. Of all, four fuel stations are of BPCL, two of HPCL and one each is of Indian Oil and other."

The Indian Oil's regional manager (sales) Laxman Deshmukh underlined, " The CNG will be available at the company's fuel station in Waluj area. The work to install the machine is underway."

SAKSHAM 2021 aims at spreading the message of energy conservation. The month-long campaign will witness the hosting of various programmes till February 15. The car and bicycle rallies will also be organised during the campaign, it is learnt.
