Court rejects Dr Ambhore’s petitions

Aurangabad, Oct 14:

Justice Mangesh Patil from Aurangabad bench of Bombay High Court on Wednesday rejected both the petitions of Dr Shankar Ambhore, the former member of Board of Studies (BoS) of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu).

Governor and chancellor of the universities had declared the election of Dr Ambhore as a member on BoS and Management Council invalid. Dr Ambhore challenged both the orders of the Governor in the High Court. As per the court’s directives, no one should be appointed on the post of Dr Ambhore for next six months (from September 30) so that he will be able to appeal in Supreme Court.

He was nominated on Economics BoS as a member and got elected as chairman of BoS-Economics. He contested Management Council membership election against Dr Vilas Khandare as member of Academic Council and got elected.

Dr Khandare challenged the election of Dr Ambhore as BoS chairman and MC member with the Governor. Hearing arguments, the Governor termed the election of Dr Ambhore as invalid. Dr Ambhore challenged the orders in the court which withheld Governor’s orders. Adv Shambhuraje Deshmukh and Ramraje Deshmukh appeared for Dr Khandare.
