COVID taught us lesson: VC Dr Gavhane

Aurangabad, Jan 16:

“We have learnt a lesson from Novel coronavirus. We should not try to harm and overcome nature. In ‘New Normal Era’ after COVID, sustainable life is at threat than sustainable development. We need to develop a new lifestyle,” said Dr Sudhir Gavhane, vice-chancellor of MGM University.

He was speaking in the valedictory ceremony of course on ‘Disaster Management’ conducted by Human Resource Development Centre of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University on Friday.

Management Council member Dr Phulchand Salampure, course coordinator Dr Ram Chavan, HRDC director, Dr N N Bandela and assistant director Dr Mohammed Abdul Raffey were present. The course was conducted from January 1 to 15.

VC Dr Sudhir Gavhane said that there is a need to spread technical knowledge about natural calamities and human-made disaster. “Economic, social, education and cultural condition were changed due to COVID. All should work considering this,” he added.

Dr N N Bandela also spoke. Dr Mohammed Raffey conducted the proceedings while Dr Aniket Sarkate proposed a vote of thanks.
