CP inspects implementation of 'Break the Chain’ initiative

Commissioner of Police Dr Nikhil Gupta, DCPs, ACPs on Monday visited various check points to inspect the implementation of the ‘Break the Chain’ initiative. They found less officers at some check points, they questioned the police officers about it.

Considering the increasing Corona crisis in the city, all the shops and market are closed at 1 pm for the past two days in the city. Moreover, Nakabandi has been imposed at 62 places in the city. One officer and 10 policemen have been deployed at each fix point. Dr Gupta on Monday visits various parts of the city and found fewer policemen at some of the fixed points. He questioned about it to the concerned officer about it. The officers informed him that the in-charge deploys policemen as per the number of available policemen. The CP, then directed the inspectors to contact the control room in case of inadequate police force, the sources said.

People are co-operating the police during the implementation of the break the chain initiative. There were fewer policemen at some points due to the inadequate staff. The concerned officers have been informed to contact the head quarters in case of requirement of additional men, Dr Gupta said.

DCP Deepak Girhe, ACP Vivek Saraf, ACP Suresh Wankhede also participated in the initiative of Break the Chain at various chowks in the city.

Meanwhile, Mandaps have been established at each fixed point and cold water jars have been made available for the policemen on duty.
