District witnesses rise in home quarantine; 1L figure likely to be touched, soon

Aurangabad, March 22:

The second wave of Coronavirus is creating the pandemic situation once again in the district. The figure of patients placed under home quarantine is heading to touch 1 lakh. There were 13,000 citizens under home quarantine from the district on March 15; 53,605 on March 19, and 81,280 on March 22. The figure has scaled up very fast in the last three days. However, there is zero admission of suspects in the institutional quarantine centres in the district, stated the departmental report.

In Marathwada, after Aurangabad, the figure of citizens under home quarantine in Nanded is 16,098; Latur - 15,578, Beed- 5,913, Parbhani-577 and Osmanabad-520. More than 1.19 lakh patients are under home quarantine from the region.

12K under institutional quarantine

Meanwhile, 12,930 persons are admitted to the institutional quarantine centres in Marathwada. There are zero admissions in Aurangabad, Beed and Osmanabad districts, while Parbhani is 11,410, Hingoli-945, Nanded-205, Latur-243 and Jalna-127.

Rise in containment zones barring A'bad

It is learnt that 496 containment zones were demarcated in Marathwada till March 15. The figure reached 955 by March 19 and 1102 by March 22. The status of containment zones in the district includes Aurangabad- Nil, Parbhani-85, Hingoli-17, Nanded-93, Beed-272, Latur-492, Osmanabad-134 and Jalna-09.
