Aurangabad, June 2:

The Aurangabad branch of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) on Wednesday staged a protest in front of the IMA Hall in Samarthnagar, taking an aggressive stance against the remarks made by yoga guru Baba Ramdev regarding allopathy. The members protested by wearing black ribbons and demanded legal action and criminal charges under the Epidemic Diseases Act.

Speaking on the occasion, IMA secretary Dr Yashwant Gade said that anger is being expressed by doctors across the country. There should be legal against such people. We will fight against such mentalities. Dr Anant Kulkarni said that Baba Ramdev said whatever came to his mind when he does not know anything about corona. Vice president Dr Anupam Takalkar said, anything is said by putting forward Ayurveda. This cannot be tolerated. All should stop going to such people to get treatment. IMA Aurangabad branch president, Dr Santosh Ranjalkar, Dr Sachin Savji, Dr Rajendra Shewale, Dr Rashmi Borikar, Dr Ujwala Zanwar, Dr Shripad Joshi and Dr Ujwala Dahiphale were present.

No opposition to Ayurveda

Dr Santosh Ranjalkar said, "IMA is a non-political organization. We are not against Ayurveda. But allopathy medicines have a lot of research work. A case should be registered against Baba Ramdev for his comments and he should be arrested. He should apologize to all doctors.
