Dr Dilip Mhaisekar appointed director of medical education

Aurangabad, July 5:

Dr Dilip Govindrao Mhaisekar was appointed director of the Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER) on Monday. He worked as vice-chancellor of Maharashtra University of Health Science (MUHS) Nashik excellently.

The seats postgraduate courses of medical colleges were increased during his tenure.

Dr Mhaisekar was VC of Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University (SRTMU), Nanded and Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University, Nashik.

He worked as a member of the Indian Council of Medical Research for ten years. Dr Mhaisekar is a member on the National Medical Commission since its inception.

He has been working on different committees, including Governing Council of All Indian Institute of Medical Sciences (New Delhi) since 2016, head of a committee set up to select a director for Haffkine Institute, technical head of panel set up by the Central Government for the empowerment of medical colleges and PG course upgradation under 11th Five-Year Plan. He was honoured with many awards.
