Dussehra to be celebrated in simple manner

Aurangabad, Oct 24: Citizens will celebrate Dussehra on Sunday with enthusiasm, following the guidelines of Covid-19. The traders are expecting good sales of new vehicles, flats, gold and electronic items.

Citizens rushed to market on Saturday for shopping. The emphasis today was on buying new clothes for the occasion. Some were seen buying electronic items like TV, fridge and washing machine. Vehicle showrooms had received several bookings for delivery of new vehicles on Dussehra. The offices of reputed builders had a rush of customers. This has created an atmosphere of excitement in the trading community. The temples have been closed this year as a precaution against the backdrop of the coronavirus. The Karanpura fair has also been canceled. On Vijayadashami, Balaji Rath is taken out in the evening at Karnapura. But the tradition of centuries is broken this year. Also, the Ravan dahan program at Ramlila Maidan in Cidco has been canceled. As a result, citizens are going to celebrate Dussehra with their families at home.

Marigold costs more

Heavy rains have damaged marigold flowers in large quantities. Therefore, traders in the city today ordered marigold from Jintur and Hingoli areas. Marigold was being sold for between Rs 80 to Rs 100 per kg. The price of marigold will be decided on the basis of the arrival on the day of Dussehra, said trader Babasaheb Tambe.
