Farmer duped of Rs 25L on pretext of buying house

Aurangabad, July 9:

The Satara police have booked eight persons for duping a farmer of Rs 25 lakh, who received huge government compensation for the land acquired for the Delhi - Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) project, on the pretext of purchasing a house for him at Aurangabad.

The accused have been identified as Mangesh Parasnath Bhagwat, Aditya Ratnakar Garpagare, Sachin Jadhav, Ashok Shejul, Yogesh Ubhedak, Vipul Vakkani, Annasaheb Eknath Lokhande and Sandeep Bhagat.

Complainant Ganesh Ravan Dhoble (33, Jambhali, Paithan) mentioned in his complaint that his land was aquired for the DMIC project and he received the compensation from the government. He kept the amount in a bank and he wanted to purchase a house at Aurangabad. He came in contact of the accused as he was searching for a house. They told that a three BHK house of Annasaheb Lokhande on Paithan Road is available for sale. Dhobale like the house and a sale deed was made by paying some amount in 2019. The remaining amount was to be paid at the time of the registration of the house. The accused told Dhobale to deposit the amount directly in the account of Aditya and even Lokhande did not object it. Dhobale deposited Rs 25 lakh in the account through RTGS. Later, the accused started ignoring him and did not register the house. When realized that he has been taken for a ride, he lodged a complaint at the Satara police station.
