Aurangabad, July 21:

The government has imposed strict restrictions on the celebrations of the religious festivals due to the possibility of the third Corona wave. Hence, last year the Ramzan Eid and Eid-ul-Adha (Bakr-Eid) were celebrated at homes. This year too, both these Eids were celebrated at homes traditionally. Special prayer was not organised at any mosque in the city. The devotees offered Namaz at home with the family members followed by the ritual of Quarbani.

Every year, special Namaz is offered at Eidgah Maidan at Cantonment for Bakr Eid. Last year, it was cancelled. Now, the second Corona wave has receded but considering the possibility of the third Corona wave, the government has imposed gathering and crowding restrictions. The police had deployed strict bandobast on all the roads going towards all Eidgahs on Wednesday. The Railway Station, Osmanpura, Himayat Baug, Harsul Eidgah maidans borne deserted look. The religious leaders had earlier appealed to the people to offer the Namaz at home. The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation had made preparations for quarbani at various places. Many devotees after the Namaz went to the graveyards and offered flowers to the tombs of their ancestors. People convey Eid wishes to each others on social media.
