Fraudster duping investors of Rs 1.82 crores arrested

Aurangabad, June 9:

The absconding kingpin of the scam of duping around 22 persons of Rs 1 crores on the pretext of lucrative returns on the investment in Commodity trade, was arrested at Pune. The arrested has been identified as Prashant Ramesh Dhulam (47, Jadhavwadi).

Prashant Dhulam, his family and an agent duped the manager of manager of the Vishwakalyan Multistate Co.op Society, Anilkumar Sunil Jaiswal (30, Jadhavwadi) at Sillod in 2019. Before that a similar case of duping was registered against Dhumal at the Cidco police station. The economic offence wing arrested Dhulam from Pune after two years. It has found that he has duped the investors of Rs 1.82 crores. Jaswal came in contact of Dhulam and the later told him that there is huge return on the investment in Commodity trade. Jaiswal in 2014, invested Rs 3.5 lakh in the trade. Dhumal gave him Rs 35,000 per month for few months but later stopped the payment. Later, Jaiswal again invested in this trade but Dhumal and the agents did not pay him returns stating the reasons of inquiry by the Income tax department and other reasons. Dhumal duped around 22 in the similar manner. His wife Bhavana, brother Vivek, cousins Santosh, Yogesh, Avinash Palkar, uncle Nandkumar Palkar, partner Vikrant Waghule, agent Anil Joshi, Atul Deshpande, Mahesh Madhukar Purnpatre are also involved in the scam and cases have been registered against them at the Cidco police station. API of the Economic Offences Wing Amol Satodkar is further investigating the case.

Under the guidance of police commissioner Dr Nikhil Gupta, DCP Meena Makwana, PI Dadarao Shingare, the police team including API Amol Satodkar, constable Nitesh Ghodke, Sandeep Jadhav, Mahesh Ugale, Babasaheb Bhanuse and Nitin Deshmukh executed the police action and arrested Dhumal.
