Govt fixes Rs 250, including Rs 150 for vaccine and Rs 100 service fees

Aurangabad, March 8:

The Corona vaccination of the residents above 60 years of age and above 45 years with co-morbidities started in the private hospitals on Monday. The government has fixed Rs 250 price for each vaccine, including Rs 150 for the vaccine and Rs 100 as the service fees. Now, competition can be seen among the private hospitals to attract the residents for vaccination by reducing the service fees.

The third phase for the senior citizens and with residents with co-morbidities started across the country from March 1. Now, private hospitals have also included for increasing the vaccination. The private hospitals cannot recover more than Rs 250 for vaccination. However, these hospitals are recovering less than Rs 250 to attract the residents for vaccination to their hospitals. Moreover, vaccines are provided free of cost at the municipal corporation vaccination centres.

The hospitals are providing vaccines for Rs 175 for the residents more than 75 years of age and Rs 150 for the residents below 75 years, the sources said.

The president of the Marathwada Hospitals Association, Dr Himanshu Gupta said, the government is providing the vaccine to the hospitals for Rs 150 and Rs 100 is charged as service fees. The hospitals can take the decision whether they can charge Rs 100. Hence, some hospitals are providing vaccines in lower prices. A discussion will be held with the hospitals in this regard, he said.
