Govt issues permission to fill 260 vacant posts of principals

Aurangabad, Jan 9:

The Higher and Technical Education Department issued a circular on January 8 permitting the recruitment of 260 posts of principals in aided senior colleges across the State.

The State Government put a ban on the recruitment of employees through its orders dated May 4, 2020, with the spread of Novel coronavirus.

The number of principals fell vacant during the last few years. It has become difficult for colleges to maintain the administration and to solve students problems.

Also, the vacant posts are creating a problem for seeking NAAC accreditation. There was a demand from college employees and education societies to grant permission for principal’s posts.

The circular was issued yesterday giving exemption for the recruitment of principal’s posts from the financial restrictions. A total of 260 vacant posts in the aided senior colleges will be filled.

Meanwhile, MLC Satish Chavan had also raised the demand for permission on August 15, 2020, with the deputy chief minister.

Commenting after the circular, Chavan said he would take up the issue of teaching and non-teaching employees recruitment with Government level.
