Haseenabevi returns from Pakistan jail after 17 years

Haseenabivi alias Sahjali alias Hasina Shaikh Abdul Kareem (50, Rashidpur) returned to Aurangabad on the Republic Day on January 26 (Tuesday) after staying in the Jail at Pakistan for 17 years as her passport was lost at Lahore.

Haseena Begum, a resident of Rashidpura area was married to Dishad Ahmed, Saharanpur at Uttar Pradesh. She had gone to Pakistan to meet her husband’s relatives at Pakistan in 2004 by train but could not meet the relatives. She also lost her passport at Lahore and was put in the Jail at Pakistan. In 2019, the Indian Government received the information about her and the action began to bring her back. She told that she is a native of Aurangabad. The Aurangabad police then started the search for her relatives in Aurangabad and they only knew that she lived at Chelipura, Aurangabad. This area comes under the City Chowk police station jurisdiction. Hawaldar Azim Inamdar received the information about her relatives and the documents on which her name was registered. Then it was confirmed that she was the resident of Aurangabad. He then search her nephew Khawaja Jahiroddin Chisti. After completing all the procedure, she came to Amritsar on December 21 from Pakistan. She was under the care of Red Cross Society. When the orders to take her to Aurangabad were received, under the guidance of PI Sambhaji Pawar, hawaldar Mehbood Mehmood Shaikh, LPC Raeesa Jamiroddin Shaikh went to Amritsar and brought Haseenabivi to Aurangabad on January 26 at 9.30 pm by train.

She thanked the Aurangabad police for helping her reach her dear ones. Her nephews Khwaja Jahiroddin Chisti, Khwaja Jakiuddin Chisti (Rashidpura) took her to home.
