High-level meeting regarding electricity to farmers

The guardian minister Subhash Desai on Friday said that a high-level meeting would be held with the energy minister and MSEDCL officials in Mumbai to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the farmers during the Rabbi season.

The minister spoke to the reporters after the meeting of the district planning committee (DPC). Desai said that now the Rabbi season is starting and farmers in some places face problems while supplying water to the farms. In some places, there are no connections, while in some areas, the distribution boards (DP) are defunct.

A meeting between the energy minister, state principal secretary and the local people''s representatives will be held to resolve these issues. MLAs from Phulambri, Paithan, Vaijapur and Kannad raised the issue of electricity in rural areas in the DPC meeting. To which, the guardian minister assured a high-level meeting.

When quizzed about the vacancies in the health department, the minister said "There are vacancies in health centres in the district including Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). In some places, hospital buildings have been erected, but there are no employees. To sort out the issue of vacancies, a meeting will be held with the minister of health and the minister of medical education and this issue will be sorted out through a time-bound program," Desai said.

Desai also instructed the administration to implement the ''My Family My Responsibility'' campaign extensively. Desai also said that the rains had affected farmers in the district. Work is underway to help the affected farmers.

One crore fund for Santpeeth

Although a building has been constructed for the Sant Peeth at Paithan, the building has not been used. The guardian minister said that a fund of Rs 1 crore had been sanctioned by the DPC for the repair of the building. He said that Rs 25 lakhs were transferred to the district collector in the first phase.
