HoDs, lecturers instructed to complete the syllabus by April 4 through online classes

Aurangabad, March 19:

Even though instructions were given by Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University to take online classes, many had turned a blind eye to it. Therefore, the university has once again instructed all heads of departments (HoD) and lecturers in the main campus and sub-campuses to take online classes of students and complete the syllabus by April 4.

Due to the growing corona infection, the university and college classes had to be closed as per the order of the local administration. Therefore, the university administration has ordered the HoD and lecturers to take online classes. But the university received complaints from the students that online classes are not being held. Hence the university administration has ordered to complete the syllabus to all HoDs by April 4 through online classes.

50 per cent attendance mandatory

As per the order of the state government, the attendance of 50 per cent of employees is compulsory. All the academic and administrative offices of the university will be open with 50 per cent attendance. This measure will be implemented until March 31. During this period, the HoDs should ensure that 50 per cent of the total employees of his department will be present. Also, the HoDs of the department in which only one employee is working should take decision according to the urgency of the work.

Biometric attendance at the university has been stopped due to covid. The university administration has noticed that the regular staff and officials, including the contractual staff, are not abiding by the time constraints. Some come to the office in the afternoon, while others leave early. Hence senior officials have decided to make a surprise visit to check the attendance.
